About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to enhance their industrial automation capabilities in Glasgow . This role is central to designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated control systems and automated processes that drive efficiency and productivity in manufacturing environments. You will work with cutting-edge technology to optimize production lines and solve complex automation challenges. This position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial networks, contributing to a company at the forefront of industrial innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical schematics and control system architectures for automation projects.
Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
Integrate various automation components, including sensors, actuators, and robotics.
Perform electrical installations, wiring, and commissioning of control panels and automated machinery.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement automation solutions to enhance efficiency.
Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations staff.

Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical engineering.
Proficiency in programming major PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
Experience with industrial networks (e.g., Profinet, EtherNet/IP) and SCADA systems.
Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards relevant to industrial environments.
Excellent diagnostic skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
