About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Electrical Engineer to enhance their industrial automation capabilities in Glasgow . This role is central to designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated control systems and automated processes that drive efficiency and productivity in manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical schematics and control system architectures for automation projects.
- Program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Integrate various automation components, including sensors, actuators, and robotics.
- Perform electrical installations, wiring, and commissioning of control panels and automated machinery.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement automation solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance and operations staff.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in programming major PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
- Experience with industrial networks (e.g., Profinet, EtherNet/IP) and SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards relevant to industrial environments.
- Excellent diagnostic skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
