About the Role
Our client seeks an experienced Automation Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team in Southampton . This role is crucial for the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated electrical systems that enhance efficiency and productivity. You will work on diverse projects, from conceptualization to commissioning, ensuring robust and scalable automation solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of industrial automation technologies and a passion for driving technological advancements in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement electrical control systems for industrial automation projects, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) from various manufacturers.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, and other automation components into existing systems.
- Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for automation solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams on automated systems in Southampton .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial automation and electrical control systems.
- Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation) and HMI/SCADA software.
- Strong knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Experience with robotics integration is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a remote and collaborative setting.
