About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join their Installation & Maintenance team, based in Bristol . This critical role involves the design, implementation, and support of automated systems and control technologies across various industrial processes. You will be instrumental in enhancing efficiency, improving reliability, and reducing operational costs through the strategic application of automation. This position offers the chance to work on cutting-edge technology and make a significant impact on production and operational performance within Bristol and surrounding regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems for new and existing automation projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to automation hardware and software.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies for automated machinery and control systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate automated solutions into existing plant infrastructure.
- Provide technical training and support to operational staff on the use and maintenance of automation systems.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics).
- Proven experience in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA system development.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, robotics, and data acquisition.
- Experience with electrical control panel design and wiring.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure on critical systems.
