About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and technically proficient Automotive CAD Designer to join their product development team in Cambridge . In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of automotive components and systems using advanced CAD software. Your work will be integral to the design process, ensuring precision, functionality, and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings for automotive components using CAD software.
- Collaborate with engineers and product development teams to understand design requirements and specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Create visualizations, renderings, and technical documentation to support design reviews and presentations.
- Perform design modifications and updates based on feedback and testing results.
- Maintain organized and accurate CAD data management, ensuring version control.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Design, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience as a CAD Designer , specifically within the automotive sector.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Strong understanding of automotive component design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills for design work in Cambridge .
