About the Role
Our client is looking for a practical and process-oriented Automotive Manufacturing Engineer to join their production team in Sheffield . This role is essential for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of vehicle production. You will be involved in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of production lines, working closely with assembly teams and suppliers. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and a hands-on approach to problem-solving within a high-volume automotive environment. This is a key position in ensuring smooth and efficient vehicle assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and production lines for automotive components and vehicles.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, JIT) to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and tooling specifications.
- Collaborate with quality and design teams to address production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the production facility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within the automotive sector .
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
- Experience with CAD software for process layout and fixture design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical implementation.
