Senior Automotive Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Automotive Manufacturing Engineer to join their production team in Nottingham . This role is essential for optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in the production of automotive components or vehicles. You will lead projects focused on process improvement, automation, and the implementation of new manufacturing technologies. This is a key position within a busy manufacturing environment, offering the chance to make a significant impact on production output and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust manufacturing processes and systems.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
• Introduce and manage automation solutions for manufacturing lines.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control plans.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with design engineers and supply chain to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Train and mentor manufacturing technicians and operators on new processes and equipment.

Requirements

• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Substantial experience as an Automotive Manufacturing Engineer , with a focus on process optimization.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949).
• Experience with automation, robotics, and PLC programming is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of automotive production environments and challenges.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
