About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Manager to oversee and enhance safety management systems within their operations. This pivotal role, based in Stoke-on-Trent , involves developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety protocols to ensure the highest levels of safety across all aviation activities. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining essential on-site presence with the flexibility of remote work. You will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture and proactively mitigating risks to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the company's comprehensive Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) .
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international aviation safety regulations and standards.
- Promote and foster a positive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement initiatives.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends and develop strategies for proactive risk reduction.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and contribute to safety policy development within the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience in aviation safety management , ideally within an airline or aviation organization.
- In-depth knowledge of safety management systems, risk assessment techniques, and incident investigation methodologies.
- Familiarity with ICAO Annex 19, EASA, and other relevant aviation safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site responsibilities with remote tasks.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in aviation safety are highly desirable for this role at our Stoke-on-Trent location.
