Aviation Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Aviation Safety Manager to oversee and enhance safety management systems within their operations. This pivotal role, based in Stoke-on-Trent , involves developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety protocols to ensure the highest levels of safety across all aviation activities. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining essential on-site presence with the flexibility of remote work. You will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture and proactively mitigating risks to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's comprehensive Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) .
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international aviation safety regulations and standards.
• Promote and foster a positive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement initiatives.
• Analyze safety data to identify trends and develop strategies for proactive risk reduction.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and contribute to safety policy development within the organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience in aviation safety management , ideally within an airline or aviation organization.
• In-depth knowledge of safety management systems, risk assessment techniques, and incident investigation methodologies.
• Familiarity with ICAO Annex 19, EASA, and other relevant aviation safety regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site responsibilities with remote tasks.
• Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in aviation safety are highly desirable for this role at our Stoke-on-Trent location.
