About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Aviation Safety Manager to lead their safety initiatives from their esteemed location in Cambridge . This hybrid role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety management systems across all operations. You will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, and mitigating risks to protect personnel, passengers, and assets. This is a critical leadership position within the aviation sector, demanding a strategic approach to safety assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust Safety Management Systems (SMS) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for all levels of staff.
- Monitor safety performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and safety audits.
- Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization and champion safety best practices.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in aviation safety management, preferably in airline or MRO operations.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, ICAO) and safety standards.
- Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Relevant safety certifications or qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) are advantageous.
