Aviation Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Aviation Safety Officer to join their team in Cardiff . This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the safety culture and performance across all aviation operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety management systems, conducting audits, and investigating incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. This position offers a blend of office-based analysis and on-site oversight, contributing significantly to the overall safety of flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with EASA and CAA regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments of operations, facilities, and procedures.
• Investigate aviation safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing comprehensive reports with recommended corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training programs and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
• Monitor safety performance indicators and trends, reporting key findings to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation safety management or a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA, CAA) and safety management principles.
• Experience with incident investigation techniques and risk management methodologies.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
