About the Role

Our client, a prestigious hotel in Newcastle upon Tyne , is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Banqueting & Events Manager to lead their events department. This role is responsible for the planning, execution, and success of all banquets, conferences, and special events hosted at the venue. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, ensuring flawless event delivery from conception to completion, while managing a dedicated events team. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute a wide range of banquets and events, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Coordinate with catering, A/V, and other service providers to deliver seamless event experiences.
• Manage the events team, providing leadership, training, and motivation.
• Develop event proposals, manage budgets, and oversee contract negotiations with clients.
• Conduct pre- and post-event meetings to ensure all requirements are met and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in event management, preferably within a hotel or similar venue.
• Strong understanding of banquet operations, catering, and event logistics.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
