About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and commercially minded Buyer to manage the procurement of Services and Indirects for their operations based in Plymouth . This role is vital for ensuring that the company procures essential non-operational goods and services efficiently and at the best possible value. You will be responsible for supplier identification, negotiation, contract management, and ensuring that service level agreements are met. This hybrid role allows for a balance between collaborative on-site work and flexible remote working, making it an attractive opportunity for procurement professionals in the Plymouth region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories, including professional services, IT, travel, and facilities management.
- Conduct thorough supplier research, evaluation, and selection processes.
- Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and conditions with service providers and indirect suppliers.
- Manage supplier performance against contracts and SLAs, addressing any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their needs and ensure procurement alignment.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, supplier information, and expenditure.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement professional, with a focus on services and indirect spend.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
- Excellent analytical abilities to assess supplier proposals and market trends.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, demonstrating strong self-management.
- A degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is desirable.
