About the Role
Our client is seeking a sharp and analytical Category Analyst to join their team, operating entirely remotely . This role is integral to supporting category management teams in making data-driven decisions for their diverse portfolio within the FMCG sector. You will be responsible for analysing sales data, market trends, and shopper behaviour to identify opportunities for category growth and optimisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong quantitative aptitude to contribute to strategic planning and enhance product performance for leading FMCG brands from a location of their choice.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse sales data, market share, and promotional effectiveness across various categories.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on category performance, highlighting key insights and trends.
- Identify opportunities for category growth, product assortment optimisation, and improved retail execution.
- Support category managers in developing data-backed category strategies and business plans.
- Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics, providing actionable intelligence.
- Utilise analytical tools and techniques to interpret complex data sets and derive meaningful conclusions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a data analysis, insights, or category management support role, ideally in FMCG or retail.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables) and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent understanding of retail sales data, market share analysis, and category management principles.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and concisely in a remote setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, or a related analytical field.
