About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and analytically minded Category Development Manager to drive growth for their key product lines within the FMCG sector in the South West region , based out of Bristol . This role involves working closely with retail partners to develop compelling category plans, leverage shopper insights, and implement effective merchandising and promotional strategies. You will be responsible for understanding consumer behaviour, market trends, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities that increase sales and market share for our client's brands. This is a crucial role for an individual passionate about category growth and shopper marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies and business plans in collaboration with retail partners.
- Analyze shopper insights , market data, and sales performance to identify growth opportunities within key categories.
- Create compelling category reviews and presentations for retail buyers, highlighting opportunities and solutions.
- Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies and promotional plans to drive sales and category performance.
- Work closely with sales and brand marketing teams to ensure alignment and execution of agreed strategies.
- Monitor category performance, competitor activity, and evolving consumer trends to adapt strategies accordingly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in Category Management or Shopper Marketing, ideally within the FMCG industry .
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category growth strategies.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of retail dynamics and the ability to build strong relationships with buyers.
