About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Category Manager to oversee a key product category within their FMCG operations based in Milton Keynes . This role is critical in driving category growth through effective product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. You will work closely with suppliers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to maximize category performance and profitability. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute individual to take ownership of a significant category and influence its direction within a leading consumer goods company.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute category strategies that align with overall business objectives and market opportunities.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to optimize product assortment and promotional planning.
Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
Collaborate with the sales team to drive retail execution and achieve category sales targets.
Monitor category performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Manage the category budget effectively, ensuring profitable growth and efficient resource allocation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in category management or a similar commercial role within the FMCG industry .
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
Proven negotiation and relationship management skills with suppliers and internal teams.
Excellent understanding of retail environments and consumer purchasing behavior.
