About the Role
Our client, a leading player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Category Manager specializing in Food & Beverage . Based in Southampton , this role is responsible for managing and growing a key product category, driving sales, profitability, and market share. You will work closely with suppliers, internal sales teams, and marketing departments to develop compelling category strategies and promotional plans. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and strategic individual to take ownership of a significant product portfolio within a dynamic and expanding organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the Food & Beverage category to achieve sales, margin, and market share targets.
- Analyse category performance, market trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective promotional and pricing strategies.
- Work with the marketing team to create compelling in-store and online merchandising plans.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage product lifecycle from introduction to delisting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in category management, brand management, or buyer roles, preferably within the FMCG , particularly Food & Beverage.
- Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities with experience in data interpretation and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in category management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
