Chemical Engineer - New Product Introduction

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic Chemical Engineer to join their team focused on New Product Introduction (NPI) in Plymouth, Devon, UK . This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless transition of new chemical products from the research and development phase into full-scale commercial manufacturing. You will be involved in process design, validation, and optimization to meet stringent quality, safety, and production targets. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of process engineering principles within a manufacturing context, contributing to the company's innovative product pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the process engineering aspects of NPI projects, from pilot scale to commercial launch.
• Develop and validate manufacturing processes for new chemical products.
• Create and review process documentation, including batch records, SOPs, and validation reports.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure successful product scale-up.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for new processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any process-related issues that arise during NPI or early commercial production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on NPI or scale-up.
• Familiarity with validation procedures and regulatory requirements (e.g., cGMP if applicable).
• Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
