About the Role
Our client is seeking a practical and experienced Chemical Plant Operations Engineer to join their busy facility in Leeds . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of their chemical manufacturing plant. You will be involved in troubleshooting plant issues, optimizing production processes, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and a hands-on approach to problem-solving, contributing to a team dedicated to operational excellence and maintaining high production standards within a demanding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor plant performance and key operating parameters, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and process upsets in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safe work practices.
- Lead or participate in process improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to schedule and execute plant turnarounds and preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering.
- Practical understanding of chemical plant equipment and processes.
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Excellent diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a plant environment, including shift work if required.
