About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Chemical Process Development Engineer for a challenging contract role based remotely but with occasional site visits to Cardiff . This position focuses on the research, development, and optimization of novel chemical processes for new product introductions. You will be instrumental in taking laboratory-scale innovations and transforming them into viable, scalable manufacturing methods. This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable engineer to contribute significantly to product development cycles and work on exciting, cutting-edge projects without the constraints of a typical office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of new chemical processes from concept through to validation.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate process parameters and identify optimal operating conditions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new process technologies.
- Translate laboratory findings into robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing procedures.
- Collaborate with R&D scientists and production engineers to ensure smooth technology transfer.
- Document all development activities thoroughly and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in chemical process development and scale-up.
- Demonstrated success in bringing new chemical processes to commercialization.
- Expertise in reaction kinetics, process modelling, and experimental design.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality systems (e.g., GMP, ISO).
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
