About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety standards and practices at their operations in Cambridge . This role is critical in ensuring all chemical processes and facilities operate in compliance with the highest safety regulations and industry best practices. You will conduct safety assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessments.
- Develop, implement, and maintain process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice on process safety design, modifications, and operational procedures.
- Deliver safety training and promote safety awareness among all site personnel.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with a strong focus on safety.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in chemical process safety, risk assessment, and hazard analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety regulations and standards (e.g., COMAH, OSHA PSM).
- Experience with safety software and modeling tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and influencing skills to promote safety culture in Cambridge .
