Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering consultancy in Cardiff . This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of exciting projects, contributing to the design and development of essential infrastructure across Wales. You will be responsible for producing high-quality technical designs and drawings, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring that all designs meet stringent industry standards and client expectations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including drainage, roads, and earthworks.
• Produce accurate technical drawings, calculations, and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate designs seamlessly.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve design-related issues as they arise.
• Undertake technical reviews and ensure compliance with relevant British Standards and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, design statements, and other project documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage).
• Good understanding of highway design principles and SUDs (Sustainable Drainage Systems).
• Ability to work effectively within a team and manage individual design tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
