Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a proactive and skilled Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding operations in Cardiff . This role is crucial for developing detailed engineering designs for a diverse portfolio of projects, including urban regeneration, residential developments, and commercial sites. You will be responsible for translating conceptual designs into practical, buildable solutions, ensuring they meet rigorous technical and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure elements such as roads, sewers, surface water drainage, and earthworks.
• Utilize Civil 3D and other relevant software to create drawings, models, and calculations.
• Undertake flood risk assessments and sustainable drainage system (SuDS) design.
• Liaise with statutory bodies, local authorities, and utility companies to obtain necessary approvals.
• Contribute to the preparation of tender documents and Bills of Quantities.
• Ensure designs comply with current building regulations, environmental standards, and client specifications.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a civil design engineering role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD , Civil 3D , and MicroDrainage or similar hydrological modeling software.
• Solid understanding of Section 38 , Section 104 , and Section 106 agreements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
