Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Civil Design Engineer to join their established team in Cardiff . This role involves contributing to the design and development of a wide range of civil engineering projects, from initial concept through to detailed design and construction support. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for various civil infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, and site development.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents using industry-standard software.
• Perform calculations for structural integrity, flow rates, and earthworks, ensuring designs meet all regulatory requirements.
• Conduct site visits and surveys to gather necessary data and assess existing infrastructure conditions.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, other engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Maintain accurate project records and contribute to the preparation of technical reports and feasibility studies.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a civil design engineering role.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and relevant design and analysis tools.
• Good understanding of drainage design principles, highway design standards, and CDM regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in our Cardiff office.
