Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and talented Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding operations in Cardiff . This role is crucial for developing innovative and sustainable designs for a range of civil engineering schemes, including residential developments, commercial sites, and public realm projects. You will work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to the detailed design phase and ensuring that projects are technically sound and meet all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed civil engineering design for infrastructure elements such as drainage, roads, earthworks, and utilities.
• Develop and produce design drawings, calculations, and specifications using CAD software.
• Perform site analysis and contribute to the preparation of technical reports and design statements.
• Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines and external consultants.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, building regulations, and environmental policies.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and support construction phase activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• At least 4 years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is essential; knowledge of drainage design software is beneficial.
• Good understanding of UK planning policies and building regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
