About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proficient Civil Design Technician to support their engineering team in Plymouth, Devon . This role is crucial in translating conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings and models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. You will work collaboratively with civil engineers, contributing to a wide range of infrastructure and development projects. The successful candidate will have a strong grasp of CAD software and a keen eye for detail, playing a vital role in the design process and contributing to the successful delivery of projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and sections using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software.
- Assist engineers in site layout design, drainage plans, and road profiles.
- Prepare technical documentation, including schedules, bills of quantities, and specifications.
- Ensure all drawings and designs comply with current UK building regulations and client requirements.
- Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to resolve design queries and ensure technical accuracy.
- Support site teams with design clarifications and updates as required during the construction phase in Plymouth .
Requirements
- HNC/HND qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Civil Design Technician or CAD Technician in an engineering consultancy.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential; experience with Revit or other BIM software is advantageous.
- Understanding of civil engineering principles, particularly in areas like highways, drainage, and earthworks.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment in Devon .
