About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Project Engineer to play a pivotal role in managing and delivering key infrastructure projects in the Birmingham area. This position offers a unique blend of office-based collaboration and site-based oversight, contributing to the development of essential community assets. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget, working within a hybrid model that balances remote flexibility with in-person teamwork essential for complex engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of civil engineering projects, from inception through to completion.
- Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including progress reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Manage project variations, claims, and contractual issues.
- Ensure compliance with all local planning regulations and environmental requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer or similar role, managing civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and construction techniques .
- Proficiency in project management software and standard engineering design tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with the West Midlands region's specific infrastructure landscape is a plus.
