About the Role
Our client is looking for a diligent and proactive Civil Site Engineer to oversee the construction of utilities and infrastructure projects in and around Nottingham . This hands-on role requires a strong understanding of civil engineering principles applied to site-based operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. You will be the primary point of contact on-site, coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors to manage the day-to-day activities and ensure adherence to design specifications and health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage on-site construction activities for utilities and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure work meets required standards.
- Coordinate the work of subcontractors and manage site logistics.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress updates, and safety documentation.
- Liaise with the project manager and design team to resolve site queries and technical issues promptly.
Requirements
- HND or BEng in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Civil Site Engineer or similar role on construction sites.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and health & safety practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with utilities installation (water, gas, electricity) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
