- Kent
- Permanent·On-site
Job Description
Location: Belvedere, Kent
Pay: £20.00 per hour PAYE
Hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 06:00-16:00
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
Typical earnings: Approx. £1,000 gross per week based on 50 hours
CWS is recruiting an experienced Class 2 HIAB / Plant Delivery Driver for a civil engineering business based in Belvedere.
This is a specialist driving position involving approximately a 50/50 split between lorry-loader/HIAB work and transporting plant/equipment on a beavertail vehicle.
We are therefore looking for drivers who have genuine experience in plant, construction, machinery or equipment delivery - not solely general Class 2 multidrop work.
What you'll be doing
You will deliver and collect plant, equipment and materials including:
- Excavators up to approximately 8 tonnes
- Dumpers up to approximately 6 tonnes
- Rollers
- Welfare units
- Palletised materials
- Temporary fencing
- General construction/site equipment
You'll operate both HIAB/lorry-loader and beavertail vehicles, including loading, unloading and safely securing plant and equipment.
Lorry-loader work can involve clamshell/grab, brick-grab and hook attachments, with cranes around the 30tm range.
Essential experience
You must have:
- HGV Class 2 / Category C licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Valid recognised HIAB/Lorry Loader qualification - ALLMI, NPORS or equivalent
- Practical HIAB/Lorry Loader experience
- Experience transporting plant, machinery or construction equipment
- Experience with beavertail/plant delivery vehicles OR demonstrable experience loading and securing plant/equipment
Important: Your CV does not necessarily need to specifically mention the word "beavertail". If you have transported excavators, dumpers, rollers or similar plant/equipment using a plant delivery vehicle, we would still like to hear from you.
Experience with grab/clamshell, brick-grab and hook attachments would be particularly useful.
Advantageous
CSCS, Slinger/Signaller, Lorry Loader Securer, plant tickets, Sentinel, First Aid and FORS training are advantageous but not essential.
Working pattern
Typical hours are 06:00-16:00 Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime/weekend work available.
There are no nights away. Vehicles return to the yard each night and drivers would generally operate the same vehicle.
Pay
£20.00 per hour PAYE
Approximately £1,000 gross per week based on a typical 50-hour week, plus any additional agreed overtime.
Apply
If you are a Class 2 driver with a combination of HIAB/Lorry Loader and plant/machinery transport experience, please apply with your CV.
When applying, please include details of:
- Your current HIAB/Lorry Loader qualification
- Attachments you have operated - grab, clamshell, brick grab, hook etc.
- Types of plant/machinery you have transported
- Your experience loading and securing plant on beavertail/plant delivery vehicles
CWS will contact suitable applicants to discuss the position.
