Collection Driver (Waste Management)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Collection Driver with a Class 2 licence to join their waste management operations in Derby . This essential role involves operating specialized vehicles to collect waste and recycling from residential and commercial premises. You will be part of a vital service, ensuring timely and responsible waste disposal across Derbyshire. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and committed to providing a reliable service, working within a team that values environmental responsibility and community service.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 HGV (refuse vehicle) safely and efficiently on designated routes.
• Perform collections of waste and recycling materials according to schedule.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical faults immediately.
• Ensure the safe and proper handling of waste materials.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Provide assistance to collection crews when required.

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Cat C) driving licence .
• Current Driver CPC and tachograph card.
• Experience driving larger vehicles, preferably in waste collection or a similar field.
• Knowledge of the Derby and Derbyshire area is beneficial.
• Physical stamina for the demands of the role.
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental standards.
