About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and community-focused Community Sports Development Officer to join their team, operating remotely to drive sports participation initiatives across various demographics. This role is dedicated to increasing access to sports and physical activity, particularly for underserved groups. You will design, implement, and manage programs that foster engagement, develop skills, and promote healthy lifestyles. This fully remote position requires excellent organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to connect with diverse communities through digital platforms and outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver community-based sports programs and physical activity sessions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local community groups, schools, and sports clubs.
- Identify opportunities to increase sports participation, focusing on target demographics and underrepresented groups.
- Develop strategies to promote health and well-being through sport and physical activity.
- Secure funding through grant applications and manage program budgets effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, collecting data and producing reports to demonstrate impact.
Requirements
- Experience in community development, sports development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of barriers to sports participation and strategies to overcome them.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to plan and manage projects from conception to completion.
- Proficiency in using digital tools for communication, project management, and reporting.
- Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, community development, or a related discipline are preferred.
