Community Sports Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Community Sports Development Officer to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role focuses on increasing participation in sports and physical activities across the local community, particularly targeting under-represented groups. You will design, deliver, and promote a range of programmes and initiatives, building strong relationships with schools, local clubs, and community organisations. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate community sports programmes and projects to boost participation.
• Engage with local schools, sports clubs, and community groups to foster partnerships and expand opportunities.
• Promote sports and physical activity initiatives through various communication channels.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support programme delivery.
• Monitor project progress, collect data, and report on outcomes and impact.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development , community outreach, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of the barriers to sports participation and strategies to overcome them.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
• Relevant qualification in sport, physical education, or community development.
