About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Community Sports Development Officer to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role focuses on increasing participation in sports and physical activities across the local community, particularly targeting under-represented groups. You will design, deliver, and promote a range of programmes and initiatives, building strong relationships with schools, local clubs, and community organisations. This is an exciting chance to make a tangible difference in public health and well-being through sport, working in a role that combines strategic planning with hands-on delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate community sports programmes and projects to boost participation.
- Engage with local schools, sports clubs, and community groups to foster partnerships and expand opportunities.
- Promote sports and physical activity initiatives through various communication channels.
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support programme delivery.
- Monitor project progress, collect data, and report on outcomes and impact.
Requirements
- Experience in sports development , community outreach, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the barriers to sports participation and strategies to overcome them.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Relevant qualification in sport, physical education, or community development.
