Community Sports Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Community Sports Development Officer to join their team in Sunderland . In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in promoting and developing sports participation within the local community, working with schools, local authorities, and sports clubs. You will design and deliver engaging programmes that encourage people of all ages and abilities to become more active. This position requires a proactive individual passionate about making a difference through sport, capable of managing projects both on the ground and from a remote administrative base, fostering a healthier and more active community.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver a variety of community sports programmes and events.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with local schools, clubs, and community organizations.
• Identify barriers to sports participation and develop strategies to overcome them.
• Promote sports activities and recruit participants for various programmes.
• Secure funding and manage budgets for community sports initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of programmes, reporting on outcomes and successes.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development, coaching, or community engagement.
• Strong understanding of sports and physical activity initiatives.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to engage with diverse community groups and stakeholders.
• Relevant qualifications in sports science, coaching, or community development.
• Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits.
