About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Conservation Architect to join their esteemed practice based in Belfast . This role focuses on the sensitive restoration, adaptation, and preservation of historic buildings and heritage assets across Northern Ireland . You will be instrumental in safeguarding our built heritage, applying specialist knowledge to projects that require a deep respect for historical context, materials, and craftsmanship, while ensuring contemporary usability and longevity.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake surveys and condition assessments of historic buildings and sites.
• Develop conservation strategies and detailed proposals for restoration and repair works.
• Prepare technical specifications and drawings for heritage projects, ensuring compliance with conservation best practices.
• Liaise with heritage bodies, planning authorities, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide expert advice on the repair, maintenance, and sustainable use of historic structures.

Requirements

• Qualified Architect with a postgraduate qualification or significant demonstrable experience in building conservation .
• Thorough understanding of historic building techniques, materials, and relevant legislation in Northern Ireland .
• Proficiency in architectural drawing and documentation, with an appreciation for historical detail.
• Experience in managing heritage projects and navigating complex approval processes.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
