About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Construction Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment on their sites in and around Southampton . This role is critical in implementing and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. You will conduct regular inspections, deliver training, and investigate any incidents, playing a vital part in maintaining the company's commitment to safety excellence on all construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on construction sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Investigate accidents and near misses, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver health and safety training to site personnel and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and company standards.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
Requirements
- Recognized qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety).
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and training delivery skills.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites in varying conditions.
