About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Construction Health and Safety Officer to join their dynamic team in Glasgow . You will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment across all company construction sites, implementing and enforcing robust health and safety policies and procedures. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with legal requirements and fostering a culture of safety awareness among all personnel. Your expertise will directly contribute to the well-being of our workforce and the successful, accident-free completion of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive Health and Safety policies and procedures across construction sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and implementing preventative measures.
- Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incidents.
- Advise site management on all health, safety, and environmental matters.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma).
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer within the construction industry .
- Thorough understanding of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Ability to conduct effective risk assessments and site audits.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
