About the Role
Our client seeks a proactive and experienced Construction Planner to support their diverse range of projects across Edinburgh and Scotland. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and updating project programmes, ensuring that construction activities are planned and sequenced logically to meet project objectives. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders, utilizing advanced planning software to create and maintain realistic and achievable schedules. The hybrid working arrangement allows for effective planning from a home base combined with essential on-site presence for progress monitoring and stakeholder engagement, contributing significantly to project success in the Scottish construction sector .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather information and ensure accurate programme updates.
- Identify potential scheduling conflicts, risks, and opportunities, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline programme and report on deviations and critical path activities.
- Develop look-ahead programmes and resource planning to support site operations.
- Assist in the preparation of tender planning submissions and methodologies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Senior Planner in the building and civil engineering sectors.
- Proficiency in industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6 , Asta Powerproject).
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project data.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a hybrid environment.
