Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Planner to join their team in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing construction schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. This hybrid role involves close collaboration with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders, requiring excellent communication and analytical abilities. You will play a vital role in the strategic planning and execution of diverse construction projects across Scotland, contributing to efficient project delivery and resource optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed master schedules and phasing plans for construction projects using planning software.
• Analyse project requirements, identify critical path activities, and forecast potential delays or resource conflicts.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop realistic timelines, incorporating subcontractor and supplier dependencies.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, updating plans and providing regular reports on performance.
• Identify opportunities for schedule improvement and implement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance efficiency.
• Facilitate planning meetings and workshops to ensure stakeholder alignment and effective communication.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Planner or in a similar planning role.
• Proficiency in using industry-standard planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or MS Project.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and lead times.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote work.
