Control Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their innovative team in Birmingham . This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated control systems for industrial automation projects. You will work on a hybrid basis, balancing office-based collaboration with the opportunity for remote work. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automation principles, PLC programming, and HMI development, contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our clients' operational processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
• Develop and implement advanced control strategies for industrial processes to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with project teams to define system requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, programming code, and testing procedures.
• Conduct site visits for installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Proven experience with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI software.
• Solid understanding of industrial automation, robotics, and SCADA systems.
• Experience with control system design and implementation.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, requiring both on-site and remote contributions.
