About the Role
Our client is looking for a quantitative and analytical Credit Risk Analyst to join their dedicated risk management team in Liverpool . In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and existing clients, ensuring the company's loan portfolio remains within acceptable risk parameters. You will utilize sophisticated analytical tools and data to make informed decisions that protect the company's financial health. This position is based in our central Liverpool office, fostering direct collaboration and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data, credit reports, and market information to assess the credit risk of individuals and businesses.
- Develop, implement, and monitor credit scoring models and risk assessment tools.
- Set credit limits and terms for new and existing customers, ensuring adherence to policy.
- Monitor loan portfolio performance and identify potential areas of concern or default.
- Prepare detailed reports on credit risk exposure and trends for senior management.
- Collaborate with lending teams to provide risk-based guidance on credit decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit risk analysis, financial analysis, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of credit principles, financial statement analysis, and risk management frameworks.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Experience with loan portfolio management and regulatory requirements is a plus.
