DeFi Protocol Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled DeFi Protocol Engineer to join their innovative team in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, UK . You will be at the forefront of developing and maintaining decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, contributing to the future of finance within the Crypto & Blockchain ecosystem. This role involves designing, implementing, and securing smart contracts that power a range of DeFi applications, from lending and borrowing platforms to decentralized exchanges. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial markets, smart contract security, and cutting-edge DeFi concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and secure smart contracts for DeFi protocols.
• Implement complex financial logic within smart contracts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct rigorous security audits and vulnerability assessments of DeFi protocols and smart contracts.
• Optimize smart contracts for gas efficiency and scalability on various blockchain networks.
• Collaborate with product teams and researchers to innovate and implement new DeFi features.
• Stay current with the rapidly evolving DeFi landscape, including new protocols, trends, and regulatory considerations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in smart contract development, with a strong focus on Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocols.
• In-depth knowledge of Ethereum, Solidity, and common DeFi primitives (e.g., AMMs, lending protocols).
• Experience with security best practices and auditing smart contracts to prevent exploits.
• Understanding of tokenomics, financial modeling, and economic principles relevant to DeFi.
• Familiarity with front-end development and Web3 integration is a plus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
