Drainage Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a respected engineering consultancy based in Bristol , is looking for a dedicated Drainage Civil Engineer to join their growing team. This role is critical for designing and managing effective drainage and wastewater systems for a range of development projects across the South West region. You will be involved in everything from initial concept design and flood risk assessments to detailed SuDS implementation. Key Responsibilities

• Design sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), surface water sewers, and foul water networks.
• Conduct Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and develop drainage strategies for planning applications.
• Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, and specifications for drainage infrastructure.
• Liaise with local authorities, water companies, and environmental agencies.
• Undertake site visits to assess existing conditions and monitor construction progress.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements and best practice standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Demonstrable experience in drainage design and flood risk assessment.
• Proficiency with drainage design software such as MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
• Familiarity with UK drainage standards and government guidance on SuDS.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid model combining office and remote work.
