The Role
As the Room Leader for the Tweenies Room, you will manage the day-to-day organisation of the room, providing strong leadership and guidance to practitioners in your team. Your focus will be on ensuring each child receives high-quality care and stimulating learning experiences tailored to their age and developmental stage.
Lead the smooth running of the Tweenies Room Support, guide, and inspire your team of practitioners Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios Plan and deliver engaging play-based activities in line with the EYFS Create an environment that fosters curiosity, learning, and positive relationships Support children’s communication, language, and personal development Observe, assess, and plan for each child’s individual progress Work in partnership with families to ensure continuity of care Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery procedures at all times
Skills and Experience
You will be an effective Room Leader with the following:
Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential Previous experience as a Room Leader – essential Experience in a nursery or Early Years setting Confident understanding of the EYFS framework Paediatric First Aid qualification Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification, or willingness to complete upon starting Excellent communication and organisational skills Warm, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to children and families Strong commitment to safeguarding and quality care
Location and Package
Location: Great Barr, Birmingham Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience Contract: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week Start Date: ASAP Flexibility of hours available, subject to nursery requirements
