Electrical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics, control panels, and system architectures using CAD software.
• Select appropriate electrical components, materials, and equipment, ensuring they meet project specifications and budget constraints.
• Perform electrical calculations, including power, voltage drop, and short circuit analysis.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure smooth production and resolve design-related issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant HND/HNC qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of relevant UK and international electrical standards and safety regulations.
• Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous approach to detail.
