About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join their team in Derby . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical systems for industrial applications, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. You will be involved in everything from schematic design and component selection to site installation support and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical schematics and control systems for industrial machinery and infrastructure.
- Select appropriate electrical components, including switchgear, motors, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Perform power system analysis , load calculations, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering , with a focus on power systems.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and power system analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and control logic.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., BS 7671).
