About the Role
Our client is looking for a specialized Electrical Engineer with a focus on Power Systems to join their team, offering remote working flexibility from Norwich, Norfolk, UK . This role will involve the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical power systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. You will work on projects that may include power generation, transmission, distribution, and grid integration, contributing to the development of robust and sustainable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze electrical power systems, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.
- Develop protection schemes and select appropriate protective relays and equipment.
- Perform site assessments and provide technical support for the installation and commissioning of power system components.
- Ensure compliance with relevant power system standards and regulations (e.g., G59/G99).
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders on power system projects.
- Contribute to feasibility studies and the development of conceptual designs for new power infrastructure.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Proven experience in the analysis and design of electrical power systems.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DigSilent PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of power generation, transmission, distribution, and protection principles.
- Familiarity with renewable energy integration and grid connection requirements is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
