Electronics Test Technician
Location: Farnborough (onsite) Duration: 6 months Rate: £38.80 per hour (Umbrella) IR35: Inside Clearance: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold the sole British nationality and be eligible to obtain SC clearance (can start on BPSS)
Overview
Our client, a leading organisation in the communications and advanced technology sector, is seeking an Electronics Test Technician for a contract opportunity. The role will support the assembly, testing and maintenance of complex electronic and communications products, ensuring that manufacturing activities meet rigorous quality and production standards.
Responsibilities
Assembling, wiring and integrating electronic, electrical and mechanical components in accordance with technical instructions
- Carrying out functional testing, inspection and fault-finding on manufactured products and assemblies
- Interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials and manufacturing documentation
- Using a range of hand tools, power tools and test equipment safely and effectively
- Recording accurate production, inspection and test results in line with company procedures
- Investigating manufacturing issues and supporting corrective and continuous improvement activities
- Working closely with engineering, quality and production teams to meet delivery requirements
- Maintaining a safe, organised and compliant manufacturing environmentSkillset/experience required:
Experience in a manufacturing, production or engineering technician environment
- Understanding of electronic, electrical or mechanical assembly processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
- Experience using test, measurement and diagnostic equipment
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to quality inspection
- Ability to identify faults, resolve production issues and follow technical procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Awareness of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
