English Teacher

Location: Accrington, Lancashire Salary: £160.80–£215.68 per day Start Date: January 2027 Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term / Ongoing

We are seeking an enthusiastic educator who can deliver engaging English lessons, inspire students and support their academic development.

The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge and the ability to create a positive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate, develop their skills and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and delivering engaging English lessons.

*

Teaching English Language and Literature in line with the national curriculum.

*

Supporting students in developing their reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills.

*

Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.

*

Maintaining effective classroom management and positive behaviour.

*

Adapting lessons to support students with different learning abilities.

*

Working alongside colleagues to contribute to the wider school environment.

Essential Requirements

*

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

*

Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

*

Previous secondary school teaching experience.

*

Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.

*

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

*

A positive, enthusiastic and supportive approach.
