About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and passionate Environment Artist to join their innovative, fully remote studio, operating out of Nottingham . This role is integral to building the immersive and visually stunning worlds that players will explore. You will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, textures, and environments that bring our game worlds to life, ensuring they align with the art direction and technical requirements. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of form, color, and light, and the ability to translate concepts into breathtaking digital landscapes, contributing to a memorable player experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D environment assets , including models, textures, and props, adhering to art style and technical specifications.
• Build and assemble environment levels within the game engine, ensuring optimal performance and visual fidelity.
• Collaborate with level designers and art directors to establish the visual tone and layout of game environments.
• Develop realistic or stylized materials and textures using industry-standard software.
• Optimize assets for performance, ensuring smooth frame rates and efficient memory usage.
• Stay updated on new techniques and technologies in environment art creation and real-time rendering.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience as an Environment Artist in the game industry.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max) and texturing tools (e.g., Substance Painter, Photoshop).
• Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Strong understanding of architectural principles, natural forms, and material definition.
• A portfolio showcasing high-quality environment art and strong artistic fundamentals.
