About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a driven and experienced Exploration Geologist to contribute to their proactive exploration programs in Edinburgh . This role is key to discovering and evaluating new mineral resources, applying cutting-edge geological techniques and interpretation skills. You will be involved in all phases of exploration, from target generation and regional studies to detailed drilling campaigns and initial resource modeling. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for geological detail, a strong understanding of deposit models, and a commitment to safe and effective field exploration practices within the UK .
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess potential mineral exploration targets through literature reviews, database analysis, and geological interpretation.
- Plan, manage, and execute geological field programs, including mapping, sampling, and geophysical surveys.
- Supervise and log diamond and reverse circulation drilling, ensuring high-quality data acquisition.
- Analyze geochemical and petrographic data to understand mineralization controls and alteration patterns.
- Develop preliminary geological models and assist in resource estimation for new discoveries.
- Prepare clear and concise geological reports, summaries, and presentations for internal review and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Economic Geology, Exploration Geology, or a related earth science discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mineral exploration, with a focus on gold, base metals, or industrial minerals.
- Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) and geological modeling packages.
- Strong knowledge of deposit genesis, structural geology, and alteration systems.
- Experience with various exploration techniques, including geochemical sampling, geophysics, and drilling.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to undertake extensive fieldwork, including remote locations in Scotland .
