Exploration Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Exploration Geologist to join their forward-thinking team based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This role is focused on identifying and evaluating potential new mineral resources through extensive fieldwork and geological analysis. You will be instrumental in discovering new deposits, assessing their economic viability, and planning future exploration programs. This is an exciting opportunity for a geologist passionate about discovery and contributing directly to the growth of the mining company .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and surveying in diverse terrains.
• Identify and interpret geological structures and rock formations related to mineralisation.
• Utilize geophysical and geochemical data to delineate exploration targets.
• Plan and oversee drilling programs, core logging, and sample analysis.
• Prepare detailed exploration reports, including resource estimations and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and other specialists to integrate data.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in mineral exploration or mining geology.
• Proficiency in geological software for data interpretation and mapping.
• Strong understanding of ore deposit types and exploration techniques.
• Experience with core logging and field data collection.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote locations.
