About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Exploration Geologist to join their team based in Cardiff . This role is central to identifying and evaluating new mineral resource opportunities. You will be responsible for planning and executing exploration programs, interpreting geological data, and making recommendations for further exploration and development. Working in diverse field conditions, you will play a pivotal part in the company's growth strategy by discovering and delineating viable mineral deposits in various terrains across Wales and potentially beyond, requiring a keen eye for geological detail and a strategic approach to resource discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute field exploration programs, including mapping, sampling, and surveying.
- Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify prospective areas for mineralisation.
- Conduct geological modeling and resource estimation for potential deposits.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations during exploration activities.
- Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and other technical specialists.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Geology or a related field with a focus on economic geology or exploration.
- Demonstrated experience in mineral exploration, including various deposit types.
- Proficiency in geological mapping, core logging, and sample selection techniques.
- Experience with geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in field environments around Cardiff .
